For all MAC users:

While you will not have to re-install EMS to your computer, when you sign in through Renoir for the first time after the upgrade you will need to enter the following when prompted:

Server: Heron\sqlsrv_mast

Database: EMS_PROD

The EMS upgrade is complete.  EMS Enterprise Client is now available.  EMS Web Room Request will be available in your portfolio at 10am today.

EMS Mac users will be able to access EMS through Renoir. You do not need to reinstall.

PC Users must download the new version of EMS.  Please do the following:

1. Click on this link: https://wesfiles.wesleyan.edu:443/software/PCSoft/All/EMS/EMS%206.0/EMSEnterpriseClient.msi

2. You will be prompted for your Wesleyan username and password.

3. You will be asked “would you like to save this file”- click save

a.  If you are using Internet Explorer, save the file to your desktop

b.  If you are using Mozilla, the file will automatically save and a Downloads dialog box will open.

4. Internet Explorer users: Double click on the file on your desktop to open the file, follow the prompts to run.

5.  Mozilla users: Double click on the downloaded file in the dialog box, follow the prompts to run.

6.  You may be prompted for server and database information:

a.  Server: Heron\sqlsrv_mast

b.  Database: ems_prod

If you have trouble downloading the file, please contact your desktop support specialist.

This is a reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24^th the campus Event Management System (EMS) will be unavailable for new data entry or updating all day.  During this time we will be completing an upgrade of the scheduling system.  Please do not log on.  Please also do not login to Virtual EMS (Room Request) through your portfolio.

The upgraded system will be available at 10am on Wednesday, July 25^th and has relatively few changes from our existing system.  We will be scheduling EMS user group meetings in late August before the start of Fall semester to go over some of the important changes to the system.

There has been a change to the email settings in EMS.  If you are either a Mac user or a PC user and have recently encountered problems emailing from EMS, please do the following in EMS:

1. Click “Settings” (upper left corner)
2. Select “Preferences”
3. In the SMTP Email section, change the “Server” to bulkmail.wesleyan.edu

If you continue to experience difficulty, please email emshelp@wesleyan.edu.

I hope you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer (it’s not over yet – thank goodness!).  The fall term is nearly upon us and there are a few EMS-related items to bring to your attention.

1. Orientation Interns have begun web requesting rooms for faculty advisors to meet with their group of new advisees.   The meetings will take place on Thursday Sep 2 (10am-11:30 or 12:30pm-2).   Requests for department-controlled spaces are for faculty from that specific department.  Please check for EMS Web Requests and change the booking status to Confirmed.
2. There will be an EMS User Group meeting on Tuesday Sep 21, 9:30am, Usdan 110.  You will receive an Outlook invitation; I hope you will join us.  New and improved features of  the EMS version we began using this summer will be demonstrated. (See # 5 below for more information on the upgrade.)
3. EMS Basic Training will take place on Wednesday Sep 29, 10am, Science Center 72.  Please let me know if you would like to attend.
4. EMS Advanced Training will take place on Thursday Oct 7, 10am, Science Center 72. Please let me know if you would like to attend.
